CNet News.com.com.com is carrying a story about a planned interim release of Windows XP to keep the income stream flowing fill the gaping hole in the product line tide us over until Longhorn. The Microsoft geeks have watched The Matrix too many times, apparently, because it’s being dubbed “Windows XP Reloaded”. I assume that’s an internal name. |

Gibson is launching a digital electric guitar. It looks and plays like a regular Les Paul, but instead of pickups and audio cable, you plug in an ethernet cable. Unfortunately, this means you can’t plug it into that 1944 Fender amp. Worst idea in the history of electric music or the next big thing? Time will tell. |

I understand the need to have timeouts when you’ve logged into an online system, online banking for example. But why are so many sites incapable of dealing with clicking “Log Out” when the session’s expired? When the session’s expired and you click Log Out, the response should just be “ok, done,” not a page screaming at me that my session’s expired and I need to log in to do that. |
